An education consultant, Michelle has a masters’ degree in gifted education. As a consultant, she advises teachers, administrators, and parents across the state and nation on ways to effectively teach literacy, especially to higher learners, who are sometimes difficult for teachers to challenge. Michelle has presented to educators and parents on topics such as higher order thinking strategies and meeting the needs of social/emotional aspects in the gifted student. She is an annual speaker at the Duke TIP Summer Institute for Educators at Duke University and has presented a number of times at the North Carolina Association for the Gifted State Conference. Michelle also homeschools her daughter.
